Social Media Ticket Fraud
Fraudsters are posting pictures or statuses online telling members of the public to contact them via Direct Message for football tickets. This then leads to a mobile messaging conversation. During the conversation, bank details are provided by the suspect so that the tickets can be purchased. After the victim has paid for the ticket the fraudster blocks them to stop further conversation, leaving victims without the tickets and out of pocket.

Big Clean Up Continues
Our next Big Clean Up will be on Saturday 18th December 2021, and we are likely to be supported by local councillors now that the Birmingham University term has finished last week, and it would be nice to have more support from across our street to improve its overall look.
Police security advice
The chance of becoming a victim of crime in the West Midlands is extremely low. However, there is plenty you can do to reduce your chances even further. The Birmingham South Local Police Unit would like to remind residents to follow some burglary safety advice due to the warm weather and the increase in burglaries associated with it.
Next Warwards Lane NHW Meeting
The next Warwards NHW meeting, open to all residents of Darris Road and Park Corner, will take place at the Selly Park Baptists church on Thursday 19th March 2020, starting at 7.00pm prompt, and police will hopefully be in attendance to outline details of crime in our local area as well as one of our local councillors.
Additionally, we are currently discussing some options with Birmingham University around engaging more with is students and its student community wardens as regards co-operative projects that they and our local community can work together. There will be some articles regarding this in this March's newsletter.
We are looking for more recruits to the local Street Watch group where both students and local residents are involved. These efforts require everyone's support, not just the usual suspects, and are likely to be undertaken at various times, reducing the likelihood of taking up time slots where people are regulalrly unavailable.
